Fourteen parishioners from the Social Group toured the beautiful Sacred Garden at the Monastery on Monday 25th October. Following a most enjoyable and well catered lunch in The Monastery O'Brien Room, the group visited the Monastery Church and the Passionist Cemetery. Stan O'Loughlin was our most informative guide.

rs Social Group is a purely social group for older and not so old parishioners as a social outlet and provides fellowship and camaraderie. Meetings are held in the parish hall on the fourth Mondays of the month where there are on occasions guest speakers or some form of entertainment. Activities and outings vary. Such functions are bus trips, barbecues, dining out etc.Numbers of people attending varies between 25-45. The End of Year Christmas Lunch attracts up to 60 parishioners.
History of the Group: The inaugural meeting of the group was in June 1995 following a proposal by Denise McNamara to the Parish Council. Pat McAssey was elected as Coordinator and served in that role for 5 years. Brian Hennessy became Secretary/Treasurer
